A Window Into: upcoming exhibition at Arch Enemy Arts
Since January, I have been working on pieces for my first solo exhibition with Arch Enemy Arts gallery in Philadelphia, which opens on Saturday, August 23rd.
The show is called “A Window Into”, and there will be a total of nine small Altered Books available. Each piece has grown close to my heart over these months and I’m honoured (and nervous) to be debuting them publicly.
The gallery is handling all sales and shipping, as well as the collector’s preview, so I’m only sharing a little peek here today. An advanced preview is scheduled to be released via email on August 21st, and interested collectors are encouraged to send a request to info@archenemyarts.com.
If you have questions or concerns about this process, you’re more than welcome to reach out to me directly.
The title of this exhibition is an extension of the first Altered Book I created in the collection, “A Window Out, A Window In”.
I’ve always thought books and stories to be a window into the soul of another, as well as my own, and I continue to think about this as I dive deeper into the work I truly want to create as an artist. This series is an invitation to look inward - to think about what it means to be free, to grow, to move forward.
I won’t be attending the opening of this exhibition, sadly, but I’d love to hear from you if you’re local to Philadelphia and planning to see the show in-person. It will be on view until the end of September, I believe.
I will also share more about these pieces on my website and social media after the release.
Thank you for keeping up with, and supporting, the art that I make.
Sending my love,
Isobelle
