The Thing With Feathers is a series titled after one of my favorite Emily Dickinson poems, “Hope”, and began in December 2022 upon completing the Altered Book, “Home”.

My books have always been a way to show the value of stories, and finding the strength to share those internal narratives we hold within us every day. Using the subtle symbolism of doors, passageways, and arches (transition, beginning/end), the pieces in this series explore the doors that exists within us - the space between one place to another, one experience to the next, a self-awareness and determination that guides us through our time here.
